Seek those images that constitute the wild, the lion and the virgin, the harlot and the child. Find in middle air an eagle on the wing, recognize the five that make the Muses sing. | W.B Yeats, Those Images

creativ

This textbook hasn’t been that bad…here are some observations it makes about creative people:

“they are not conformists, but they are not nonconformists, either. Rather, they are “independent.” There are extroverts among creative people, but the tendency is toward introversion … mood disorders occurred six times more frequently among creative people … creative people are not likely to be stimulated to creativity through psychological self-help books or movements … they are compulsive observers of the human condition; they enjoy building a case—creative people want to sway people, there is a kind of arrogance in this desire … they see things differently from the way other people see things—creative people have the common touch, but they express it uncommonly; they want the world to see what they have done … people who are creative in one area are usually creative in several…”

(from The Design of Advertising by Roy Paul Nelson)

These observations really seemed to ring true, what do you think?
