Cold
August drifted past in a swirl of lights and noise. The stars were there too, but I may have been the only one who saw them.
I went and saw Coldplay last night. They told the young women to put on their headphones and listen to Usher, because they “were going to play music old men dance to.” If I needed a reminder of why I like them, I got it. Alas, the old men where in short numbers; perhaps they were admiring themselves in the water. Instead of knarled, thorny-tree kneed men, I found myself surrounded by barbarians. Beer-swilling alternative robotrons–yelling at the top of their lungs, which was either to prove they were alive, or to drown out the last vestiges of life with a horrific, insensitive din, I haven’t decided which I think it was.

Coldplay is coming to Verizon Amphitheater in the next week or so. I imagine the scenery will be similar.

does that mean you’re going to the show?

I wish. To achive a seat close enough to see the stage would break my bank account. Well not exactly, but you know.

I saw Coldplay in Detroit a couple weeks ago.
One of the highlights of my life to date.
