Fragments
I will be leaving for Kansas City on Saturday, which means post volume will inevitably drop. You may want to check back while I’m gone, but I can’t promise that there will be tons of new posts.
We just got some really cool components for Garageband that will allow me to record directly from a studio mic or guitar (XLR and ΒΌ inch) to my hard drive, which means studio quality sound will now be possible for us. So, Infinite Regression can expect not only an influx of imagery but also more regular “noise” postings. Soon, IR will be the ultimate multi-media adventure.
In the time since I posted this message, I managed to upload my first hashed-through recording from last night: Oh Come, Oh Come Emmanuel.
I remembered several drinks that I forgot to include in my literary alcohol guide. War and Peace is responsible for jogging my memory. I plan to update the list shortly. The drinks to be added are: Mead, Vermouth, Brandy, and Scotch.
The first thought that came to mind last weekend upon hearing We Three Kings at church was a jolting reminder that I’ve read far too much theory. “Westward leading still proceeding, guide us to thy perfect light” instantly symbolized colonial imperialism to me and I stood there singing with an embarrassed grin on my face. I had the image of Robinson Crusoe standing on Friday’s head (from that famous carving, what is linked to, however, is a painted rendition of the image) in my mind. However, the song could be used as some excellent satirical evidence for the necessity of C3 S.E.
Britt gave me an extremely rare and valuable book for Christmas, now if I can only travel to France to get it signed (or perhaps have a glass of wine with the author?). It’s the one on the bottom right.
That is enough fragments for today.

I think IR is already a fabulous place to frequent on most evenings–if you add music, what will become of me?
Your admission on _Three Kings_ provides yet another connection . . . to my own fragmented thoughts . . . I had a similiar experience that escapes me at the moment . . . why the grin?
Hope you and Brit have a good time in KC–I wish I had known (I could have met you at Easton on Tuesday and asked you to drop off a gift for Alicia at the U–I’m afraid I haven’t mailed it and it is bound to be late).
Cheers and safe driving.

that is really funny; I may have been at Easton on Tuesday (it was either Monday or Tuesday, I’m not quite sure). It would be pretty bizarre and cool to unknowingly see another blogger (YOU!) at a place like that.
