Storm, in Black and White

Last night it stormed; fat raindrops fell heavily from the sky, and vindictive bolts of lightning cut slashingly through the dark veil of clouds. I watched, listened, and snapped. I have some color images to post later. I hope you have a good monitor, as the subtle nuances of the clouds tend to get lost on non-flat screen systems. I’m just curious, does anyone else see an outstreched figure of an old man with his hand reaching out on the top photo? His head and arm are near the bottom, and he is looking at the brightest...

We bought a car today. It will be really nice to have air conditioning, not to mention a driver’s side door and window that work. The lady we bought it from is a Muslim from Iran. Getting to know her through the purchase process was quite interesting; in fact the experience is one I will not soon forget. Naturally the above experience is unique enough to add luster to any day, but yesterday wasn’t just any day. My cousin from Denver called just as I was leaving work. He is on the return leg of a trip across the country and has been traveling solely as a hitchhiker. He was 100 miles out and was wondering if he could stay with us; I acquiesced willingly, and I can’t wait to hear his stories! I didn’t get a chance to hear any of his adventures last night because Britt and I were in Cincinnati for the Reds/Cubs baseball game. The stadium is...
