Climate Change: Caused by Humans?

Regardless of what you think about Global Warming and whether, or to what extent, human actions are primarily responsible for it, there’s a good chance you might be interested in the potential event below. The following text from an actual invitation:
The Viscount Monckton of Brenchley presents his compliments to Vice-President Albert Gore and by these presents challenges the said former Vice-President to a head-to-head, internationally-televised debate upon the question, ‘That our effect on climate is not dangerous,’ to be held in the Library of the Oxford University Museum of Natural History at a date of the Vice-President’s choosing.
Forasmuch as it is His Lordship who now flings down the gauntlet to the Vice-President, it shall be the Vice-President’s prerogative and right to choose his weapons by specifying the form of the Great Debate. May the Truth win! Magna est veritas, et praevalet. God Bless America! God Save the Queen!
Damn! This has the makings of splendid entertainment; nothing like a aristocratic Britain with Royal trappings to kick Big Al’s liberal posteriorum. Lord Mockton is just dripping with elitist condescension–one wonders that he deigns even talk with Mr. Gore:
A careful study of the substantial corpus of peer-reviewed science reveals that Mr. Gore’s film, An Inconvenient Truth, is a foofaraw of pseudo-science, exaggerations, and errors, now being peddled to innocent schoolchildren worldwide.
A foofaraw? Bloody hell! We’d better save the innocent schoolchildren from getting let astray by such a vicious and bloodthirsty pseudo-scientist such as the ex-Vice President/failed Presidential Wannabe.
Is this even real? It looks like something from the Onion. I do hope it goes forward, because regardless of what the truth is on global warming the dear Viscount will undoubtedly make Al Gore look like an uncultured fool. To that I say, Bravo!

Ha ha. That outcome would be hard to argue with.

From World Magazine.
Former Vice President Al Gore walked away with center stage and an Oscar Feb. 25 for his documentary, An Incovenient Truth, which warns consumers to use less energy at home. But according to figures released by National Electric Services, Gore’s Mansion, located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville, consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year. Gore’s average monthly electric bill topped $1,359, and Gore paid nearly $30,000 in combined electricity and natural gas bills for his Nashville estate in 2006, according to the public utility.
This just shows how much an idiot all democrats are!

Slow down, @nd®3w;
Al Gore’s utility records are pretty common knowledge and I agree that they raise some ironic questions, but deducting that all Democrats are idiots is an unwarranted conclusion. In addition you should keep in mind that there are some pretty goofball Republicans too.

i poked around online a little bit about the Viscount Monckton of Brenchley, and have to say that most seem to discount that this guy has any clue wht he’s tlaking about. From both sides.
Anywho, that wasn’t what i wanted comment for – i went to a church here in Austin last night at the recommendation of a friend of mine. Austin Stone Community Church is the home-church of Chris Tomlin. Anywho, that’s not why i wanted to comment on your site either. That reason was the message that i heard last night included something that i know you will appreciate. The link is not up yet, but give it a couple days then click here. It’s probably between 5-10 minutes in, but trust me Tim, you will want to hear this.
