Live at the DNC
Since Monday I’ve been hanging out downtown Denver and covering the DNC. I’ve met some really cool people; in addition to bloggers and writers from Momocrats, JackandJill, Green Mountain Daily, Huffington Post and other places, I’ve had a chance to meet and talk briefly with Katie Couric, Senator Ken Salazar, Congressman James Langevin and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer. Of course, if you don’t know it already I ought to mention that I am attending the DNC (as well as the RNC next week) on behalf of Disaboom.com, an online community for those touched or affected by disability. Naturally, any comments that I make on this particular blog do not necessarily reflect those of Disaboom.com, which is a non-partisan organization. To see Disaboom’s coverage be sure to check out the following links: Disabled Politico (blog), Disaboom’s Twitter Stream, my Twitter Stream, DNC2008 Landing Page, Disaboom Flickr. Here’s a selection of the many photos I’ve taken so far:
Here’s a view from the Convention floor earlier in the afternoon before the the main speakers begin.
James Carville being mobbed by adoring fans.
View from backstage and directly above the Podium.
Daryl Hannah reads a bland dialogue on the Digg stage from the second story of the Big Tent.
With newly passed out signs, lucky floor delegates go crazy for Michelle’s speech on Monday night.
Probably one of my favorite shots from the convention so far, Michelle speaking to an adoring audience.
With the conclusion of Michelle Obama’s speech the floor becomes a madhouse as Michelle brings her children on stage (and I try to leave the floor to beat the rush).
