Skiing 36 Hours Straight. Insanity at its Finest
Will you tune in? I’m going to be skiing for 36 Hours straight and live-blogging the whole damn thing. When? Starting Friday morning (Nov 30th) at 9am and me and an equally crazy group of 7 others will be risking our necks until Saturday night (Dec 1st) at 9pm, when we’ll finally kick our skis off and hit the bottle for some much needed relief. Why? Because I’m a sucker for big events, I’m all for promoting awareness for disability causes and I love to ski. Sounds like 3 entirely different things that would never come together, right? Not so! I received a copy of Ski Magazine about 3 weeks ago and as I skimmed through it I noticed a brief section on ‘Skiing for a Cause.’ Turns out there’s this really cool event that...
World Series, Game 4, Denver, CO – Red Sox vs. Rockies
World Series, Game 4, Denver, CO – Red Sox vs. Rockies :: Uploaded by sixoclockvintage Britt and I went to our first World Series game last night. Even though the Rockies were embarrassed and thoroughly kicked to the ground by the Red Sox (and by that I refer to the series in general, not last night because the Rockies actually put up a semi-decent fight), we still had a great time. It was fun to be a part of the excitement. If you want to see more pictures from the game check out my Flickr...
Gators Set on Devouring Buckeyes…Again
The NCAA Tourney will draw to a close tonight with the momentous clash of multi-sport archrivals. The Florida Gators, led (at least in spirit, though likely not in talent) by Big-Haired Noah will do their best to crunch the tough shell of the Ohio State Buckeyes, led by the 35 year old Greg Ogre Oden. An aside here: Britt thinks he may be an immigrant who got to choose his own age, since there was no accurate documentation about his birth date. I made the mistake of telling some coworkers this morning that it would be “funny” if the OSU was humbled by Florida again this year. I was met by stony silence and glares. “Why don’t you go back to your corner, Tim? I don’t see the Jayhawks in the final. “ They’re right of course...
KU Believes
Have you ever noticed that new Christians have an earnest confidence in their faith that has the capacity to reach others for Christ in powerful way? A lot of the time, a fresh believer shares the Gospel more often and more effectively than those who have been Christians for decades. I think this same concept is what is propelling the KU Jayhawks towards a likely national championship. This ought to be considered my meager contribution to the important field of Basketball and Theology. The Jayhawks are fresh-faced hoopsters with a supernatural-like aura around their play. Brandon Rush is a sophomore, and in yesterday’s thumping of Kentucky he shot an audacious 6 of 7 from the three point line. Some of those threes were launched from closer to the half...
